STEELERS SHOW STRENGTH IN DEPTH

07th October 2021

This Saturday our STEELERS Touch Rugby side travel to rugby league outfit the Catterick Crusaders. With quite a few of the more experienced players missing, this is a great opportunity to test out new combinations and ensure game time for everyone.

The Steelers are a truly inclusive outfit, split almost exactly down the middle in terms of a male to female ratio, featuring players from our U15’s, U16’s, ROCKETS, VETERANS as well as some touch rugby purists. This weekend also sees former coach Ash pull on the armband and captain the side in Richmondshire.

‘As we look forward to the regional tournament later this month, this is a great opportunity to have a look at some new players. I’m really looking forward to seeing the guys start to execute some of the things we’ve been working on in training. I think what’s most pleasing about this weekends side is that it shows just how far we’ve come as a squad. There’s quite a few of our senior players missing but we’ve still been able to field a strong team. That shows our strength in depth.’
