We’re back on the road this weekend as we head to Novos for the next round of the National Cup.
Team news sees a trio of teenagers added to the matchday squad, with Robbie Carr-Riley and ex Falcons Academy prop Aiden Binks included, while Charlie Westgarth Graham is promoted into the starting line-up.
There’s a welcome return for Paul Evans and Brian Thwaites after unavailability last week. Unfortunately, we’ll be without Ollie Shaw, Regan Ritchie-Shute and Sean Jones through injury.
Novos is always a tough place to travel, but a break from league rugby gives us a great opportunity to blood some youth and continue their development in a competitive environment, supported by some experienced heads
They say the best way to recover from a fall is to get back up, dust yourself off, and get straight back in the saddle.
Saturday gives us that opportunity as we return to Sutherland Park, determined to respond and to put right one of our heaviest defeats of recent seasons.
The National Cup offers a welcome change of pace from the relentless attrition of league rugby. It provides space to reset, to compete with freedom, and to give opportunities to players pushing hard for recognition and minutes at this level.
With Stockton representation at County Under-18s and Under-20s now well into double figures, there is a growing sense that we are at the beginning of a new cycle. This is already a young, hungry squad, and the coming seasons promise further development, depth, and competition for places.
Saturday is about response, standards, and taking the next step forward — together. 🔴⚪️
Huge thanks to Daggie and Eve from Stockton Rugby Club for supporting this. And of course our former player Mr Harle 🙌
Amazing to see the Academy being trailblazers after the success of the Women’s Rugby World Cup
… And the WORLD CUP TROPHY is coming to SRFC and The Grangefield Academy on Wednesday the 18th February. Details to follow soon ❤️🤍
#FutureReds#OurTownOurClubWe’re incredibly proud to share that we are now running three rugby teams – two boys’ teams and one girls’ team! 🏉
This is only the second week of girls’ rugby, and already we can see the team growing in confidence, teamwork and skill. It’s been fantastic to watch their journey begin.
We were also very lucky to welcome a player from Stockton’s Rockets, who came in to speak with the girls and inspire them about the opportunities rugby can bring.
The future of rugby at Grangefield is looking bright, and this is only the beginning! 💜 ... See MoreSee Less
