Amid all the celebrations 10 days ago, it was worth taking a moment to reflect on a remarkable rugby journey. ❤️🤍
When Charlie came through from the U16s, there was no Colts side waiting for him. It was before the rebuild, when teams were a struggle, so he had to wait until he was 17 before pulling on the shirt for the Stocktonians. 🏉
By 21, Charlie Doherty had become club captain.
Nine years later, still only 30, he now stands as the longest-serving skipper in Stockton RFC’s 153-year history. 👏
Take a moment to appreciate nine years of leading from the front. Nine years of putting his body on the line. Nine years of work around the club, setting standards, inspiring younger players, and representing this club with pride. 🔴⚪️
He deserves every accolade. ⭐️
We may not see his like again.

Congratulations to Durham County RFU Women on a winning start to their Gill Burns County Championship Division 2 campaign, beating NLD 31–19 at Mellish RUFC.
A top drawer 23-player effort from the whole squad. Great to see four Rockets involved too — Naomi, Leonie, Daggie and Amy — with Neve unfortunately missing out through injury.
Next up: Cheshire at Ryton RFC, Sunday 17th May, 2pm KO.
It would be difficult to describe Jay as a late developer, but he has certainly come into his own over the last season or two.
From coming through the junior ranks , helping our Under-16s to a league and cup double, and representing Wolves, Jay has kept taking every opportunity in front of him.
This year has brought a senior debut, a role in the Saracens’ successful cup run, and selection for Durham County Under-17s.
One player. Three brilliant rugby environments. Performance pathway opportunities, hard work, and a bit of Stockton grit all coming together.

The perfect pathway. The perfect combination?
Stockton RFC. Yarm Wolves. Durham County.
